THE JOURNEY
FROM CLASSICAL ROOTS TO LIVE MOMENTS
I’m originally from Ukraine and trained as a classical musician, completing my higher music education with flute as my main instrument. That background gave me the discipline, precision and musical instinct that still shape the way I perform today.
Over time, the saxophone became the instrument I connected with most on stage. While travelling and performing in Italy and Germany, I started to notice how strongly live music could affect people. Someone would stop, smile, start dancing or simply experience the moment a little differently.
That direct connection with people is still at the heart of how I perform today.
A TURNING POINT
CREATING JOY STILL MATTERS
When the war in Ukraine began, playing joyful music suddenly felt difficult. Many people around me were grieving, and for a while I questioned whether creating entertainment was appropriate at all.
But little by little, I saw people stop, smile and even dance. It made me realise that creating joy wasn’t something to feel guilty about. It was something music could genuinely give people, even in difficult moments.
It’s not about simply playing music.
It’s about changing something in the room.
